A public meeting is to be held this Thursday (9th June 2011) on planned improvements to the rail network at Holgate Junction.

The works will result in noise levels increasing for a period of time during August, and residents are being urged to attend the meeting and find out more.

Holgate councillor James Alexander says:

“This is an opportunity for residents to speak directly with officers from Network Rail who are responsible for the planned works.  My concern as a ward councillor for Holgate is that everything possible is done to minimise the level of disruption to residents’ lives, in order that these essential works can be carried out.

“I am concerned at the levels and duration of noise the works could create”.

The meeting is being jointly hosted by Holgate and Micklegate Ward Committees.

Residents will also be able to find out about a proposed hotel development at Holgate Villas.

The meeting takes place at English Martyrs Church on Dalton Terrace on Thursday 9th June, from 5pm to 6.30pm.
