Haxby collision

Police are appealing for information following a single vehicle collision.

It occurred at 9.45am today (Wednesday 25th May 2011) on Haxby Road at a mini roundabout near the Joseph Rowntree Secondary School and involved a grey moped which was heading out of York, towards the A1237.

The 84 year old, local man, who was riding the moped was taken to York District Hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries to his face.

Traffic Constable Zoe Billings, of the force’s Roads Policing Group, said:

“I ask that anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the manner of driving of the moped prior to the incident, contacts me as soon as possible.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have stopped at the scene to assist the man before the arrival of the ambulance service.”
