Selby police are investigating after hundreds of pounds worth of paintballing equipment was stolen.

Sometime overnight between Sunday 1 May and Monday 2 May 2011, a white Citroen Dispatch van, which was parked at the rear of Pond Street, was broken into.

Thieves took approximately £600 pounds worth of gear, including a replica MP-5 paintball gun, paintballs and smoke grenades.

Officers, who have been making house to house enquiries in the area and reviewing CCTV footage, are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

PC Craig Davies, of Selby police, said:

“The van was parked in a secluded area, however someone may have seen or heard something suspicious around the time of the theft.

“I would appeal to anyone who has information that can help the investigation, or has been offered any paintballing equipment for sale recently, to contact the police or Crimestoppers.”

Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is urged to contact PC Craig Davies, of Selby police, on 0845 60 60 24 7, quoting reference number 12110070976.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
