Selby attack

12:32pm 21st April 2011

A man's been beaten up in Selby.

The man, from Wakfield, was attacked on Wednesday 16th March 2011 on Wren Lane by two youths on bikes.

Following a brief argument the two youths left the scene before returning a short time later when they assaulted the 38 year old.

One of the youths held the victim against a wall as the other youth punched him in the head two or three times.

The assault resulted in bruising to the back of his head.

The man managed to get away from the youths but did not see the direction in which they left.

The only description of the offenders is that one was wearing a blue jacket and blue hat and the second youth was wearing a white jacket.

Police Constable Chris Groom, of the Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

"I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault. It occurred after the van driver asked the youths not to block the access to his van with their bikes."

If you can assist with this enquiry please contact PC Chris Groom on 0845 60 60 24 7 quoting reference number 12110041777.
