Three car theft in three days in Selby

A spate of car thefts in Selby has promted a warning to motorists not to leave their keys in their vehicles.

Since Tuesday, three vans have been stolen from the town when workman have left them with the keys in nearby.

In one incident at the YEDL site, a van taken contained over £30,000 worth of tools that are still missing.

Police are warning all drivers to be extra-vigilant when leaving their vehicles, even if only for a few minutes. Ensure your vehicle is locked and take your keys with you.
