A warning from York City Football Club.
They're reaffirming their Zero Tolerance Policy towards the use of flares and smoke devices at matches.
Following recent incidents, the club's got a ticking-off from the FA.
The Minstermen may face penalties or sanctions if it happens again.
They're warning fans if they are caught with flares and smoke devices, their details wil be passed on to the police.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE CLUB:
York City FC are reaffirming their Zero Tolerance Policy towards the use of Flares and Smoke Devices at their matches whether it be home or away. The club have recently been warned by The Football Association that following recent incidents, use of such devices at matches involving the club must stop. If the club fails to prevent their use, the Club may face penalties or sanctions from Football’s regulatory body. Consequently all supporters should be aware that the use of such devices must cease with immediate effect. Furthermore anyone found in possession of, or using such a device at any York City match will be banned from future games. In addition the club will forward details of offenders to the police for appropriate action. The club would also appeal to all fans to report any information regarding the use of smoke devices and flares at recent City matches to either the Club or the Police. This statement is also being issued in the best interest of the safety of our supporters, who are in danger of exposure to these irresponsible actions.
