North Yorkshire Police Authority announced that subject to a successful medical examination Tim Madgwick has been appointed as the force's new Assistant Chief Constable.
Tim lives near Easingwold and has been in the force for 21 years.

Minster FM spoke to him earlier this year when he raised money for charity by running 40 miles around the police headquarter Newby Wiske in Northallerton.

His appointment now means Grahame Maxwell's senior team is complete.
