Detectives in Selby are appealing for help following a burglary in Sherburn in Elmet.
The burglary occurred between 6pm on Friday 5th November and 6pm Saturday 6th November at an address in the Wolsey Croft area of the village.
The thieves stole a quantity of jewellery including a distinctive ladies Marchasite watch which has a white gold case, inset with diamonds, and has a cream coloured face. The watch is kept in its blue box and is valued at several thousand pounds.
Other items of jewellery stolen include an 18ct gold ladies eternity ring, a white gold diamond cluster ring, a boxed 9ct gold ladies ring with a purple stone, a chunky ladies 9ct gold diamond cluster ring in a dark blue oval ring box and a plain white gold ring.
The thieves also stole a number of Nintendo games systems including a DS Lite, a DSI and Wii consoles with accessories and games.
DC Amanda Bostwick, of Selby CID, said:
“A lot of the jewellery has been in the family for several generations and so has sentimental value beyond the market price the thieves would receive.
“I ask anyone who has any information that could help bring the thieves to justice and reunite the rightful owners with their property to contact the police immediately.”
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time or believes they may have been offered any of the stolen items is asked to contact DC Amanda Bostwick at Selby police station on 0845 60 60 24 7 quoting reference number 12100192128. They can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
