£1,000 reward offered after thieves strip roof

The owner of listed building in the village of Carleton near Skipton is offering a £1,000 reward after thieves stole almost four ton of Yorkshire Stone slate from the roof of his garage.
The theft at Carleton Old Hall, occurred overnight on 27th – 28th October. The thieves also entered an outbuilding next to the property and stole meat from a freezer, a STIHL power washer, a GX120/160/200EC lawnmower and a Hotpoint tumble dryer.
The reward is offered to anyone who supplies information which leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft.
Police are asking anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious on the night of Wednesday 27th October, or knows anything about the theft to contact them. People who are offered any of the items for sale and also urged to contact poluce.
PC David Foyston who is investigating the theft, said:
“The thieves must have made a noise while they carried out this audacious theft and they must have used a vehicle to transport the items. We are appealing to anyone who knows anything about the theft or saw anything suspicious in the area to contact us.
“It’s possible the thieves staked out the location prior to carrying out the theft, so we also appeal to anyone who saw any strange vehicles in the area in the days preceding the theft to let us know."
