Pensioner attacked in Rufforth

An elderly woman's broken her leg after being knocked-down by a bag-snatcher at a Rufforth car boot sale.

The 73 year old from Leeds was left shaken by the ordeal on Sunday.

The suspect is described as Asian in appearance, approx 6'3" tall, aged between 25 and 28, with short black hair, clean shaven and dressed in a brown waist length jacket and black trousers.

PC Kendra Bamber of York police who is investigating the incident said:

 "The car boot sale is very popular and would have been full of customers last Sunday morning. We are appealing for anyone who was at the sale and can remember witnessing such an incident or can help us identify the suspect to get in touch."
