Man abducted from the Layburn area

5:06pm 24th September 2009

North Yorkshire Police are just releasing details of a man who was abducted from the Layburn area last Thursday.

The 30 year old was driving his Skoda Fabia through Redmire village, when a green VW Passat pulled out in front of him causing him to stop suddenly.

Four men bundled him into the back seat of the car, placing a hood over his head.

The victim was eventually released by his abductors two hours later in Wigan, just off junction 27 of the M6.

He was not harmed but his car was burnt out.

Detectives are now hunting for his abductors who're described as white, aged in their early twenties and were all wearing hooded tops with their hoods up.
