A York couple's heartache.

17 weeks into the pregnancy of their first child they're told their baby is unlikely to survive.

23 year old Katie Field and her husband James live in Fulford.

Scans on their unborn daughter have revealed she'll probably only live for a few hours after birth.

If she does survive, she'll be disabled.

But the couple have told Minster FM they want to give her a "shot at life."

Over the next few months they're going to fundraise to help research into spina bifida.

Katie and James are being fully supported by the charity ASBAH. For the latest news from the charity go to: www.asbah.org/About+ASBAH/Latest+News Their facebook account is: www.facebook.com/ASBAH.charity
