Teenager knocked down by car in York street

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a collision that occurred on Albemarle Road, York.
The collision happened at 1.50pm on Thursday 8 March and involved an orange car which struck a fifteen-year-old boy in the street, causing a fractured ankle. The driver stopped and spoke briefly with the casualty but then drove away without leaving their details.
The casualty is receiving treatment for his injury and is likely to require surgery to repair the fracture.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who recalls seeing the vehicle prior to the collision, to get in touch as soon as possible to assist the investigation.
In particular, police are appealing for the driver of the vehicle in question to contact North Yorkshire Police as soon as possible.
