The Lord Mayor of York is inviting people to attend a unique evening event at RAF Linton-on-Ouse to help raise money for the Lord Mayor and Sheriff’s Charities.

April 2018 sees the 100th anniversary of the formation of the RAF and as well as national commemorations and celebrations to mark this important milestone, people in York have the opportunity to attend an unforgettable evening at a historic RAF station.

On the evening of Friday 13 April guests are invited to attend a private flying display (weather permitting). This will be followed by a three course dinner in the Officers’ Mess at RAF Linton-on-Ouse with serving RAF personnel.

There will also be RAF themed entertainment and music with an opportunity to hear about flying history and other aviation anecdotes.

One lucky person will also win a voucher giving them the opportunity to try their hand at flying in a RAF flight simulator.

The Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Barbara Boyce, said:

“I hope people will join us for this very special occasion.

It gives a rare opportunity to see inside of RAF Linton-on-Ouse and enjoy the legendary hospitality of the Officers’ Mess.”

Drinks will be available at the bar and there will be a raffle and auction to support the Lord Mayor’s charities which are Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Refugee Action York (RAY) and Age UK York’s Keep Your Pet service (KYP).

The ticket price includes coach transport from York (Memorial Gardens or Union Terrace) so guests do not have to worry about bringing vehicles to Linton-on-Ouse.

Tickets are £65 per person, which includes transport, a welcome drink, three course dinner, flying display, entertainment and the company of RAF Officers.
