A woman from Selby who was fundraising for her cancer treatment has passed away.

Stacie Rafton was diagnosed with an Aplastic Astrocytoma, and special treatment for the tumour cost £1500 per fortnight. Avastin is a chemotherapy that wasn't available to Stacie without paying for it.

Stacie's friends and family quickly set up a JustGiving page to raise the money for treatment, raising over £15,000 for the chemotherapy.

This morning, Stacie's friends issued this statement on the TeamStace Campaign Facebook page:

Hello all.

Kenny, Stacie’s husband has asked I let you all know that sadly, Stacie passed away peacefully just after midnight this morning with Kenny by her side.
Thank you all for your continued support.

Rest peacefully and pain free Stace. I’ll cherish the memories. 💕
Be kind. Be patient. Be caring. Be loving. Be BRAVE! Be everything ‘Stacie’.
A beautiful person inside and out - a heart of gold. 💛🧡
