Two people enter River Ouse in York

River Ouse

8:43am 25th November 2017

Fire crews in York were called to two separate incidents involving people that had gone into the River Ouse in York.

Teams from Acomb and York were called at 8:19pm to St Mary's Square, where a man had fallen into the River Ouse, but managed to pull himself up on some railings.

He was treated by paramedics shortly afterwards.

Emergency services were then called to Lendal Bridge at 1am, where a man had been in the river.

He said that there was another person still in the Ouse, so firefighters and police crews searched the banksides while York Rescue Boat searched the river.

No one was found, so the search was called off.
