Two children approached by man in Copmanthorpe

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information following a suspicious incident that occurred in Copmanthorpe.

In happened at around 8.35am on Wednesday the 22 of November 2017 on Back Lane when two young school children were approached by a man on their way to school.

The man, who is described as white, chubby build, around 5ft 7ins tall, and bald, stopped the children close to Trowel House Farm leaving the children feeling distressed. The two children managed to make their way past the man and continue to school.

We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about to help us to identity the man to establish the reason why he stopped the children.
