Police searching for wanted man in York

lewis berkley

12:44pm 17th November 2017

Police are searching for an 18-year-old man from York who is wanted in connection with breaking a court order.

Lewis Matthew Berkley was the first person in York to be the subject of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

It was granted in relation to aggressive and abusive behaviour which intimidated communities in the city.

The court order was made last year and runs until 2019. It prevents Berkley interacting with four named people and trying to disguise his identity with a hood when in public.

Berkley has recently been released from prison for burglary and theft offences.

Since his release, he is believed to have breached his CBO several times by committing a number of offences.

He is white with mousey hair and brown eyes, around 5ft 10ins tall and proportionately built.

Officers believe he may currently be in the Clifton or Tang Hall area and are carrying out a number of lines of enquiry to locate him.

Police want to hear from anyone who knows Berkley’s whereabouts or has any other information that could help.

Please call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and select option 1. If the sighting is immediate, please call 999.
