There's another heavy load using the roads around York again tomorrow (Tuesday 24th October)

Once again it will have a full police escort.

Here's what happened last week

An abnormal load which was due to travel around York this morning was delayed.

It was due to set off at 09:15 from Jockey Lane, near Monks Cross, to begin it's journey to Hull Docks under police escort.

It left Portastor, which makes solid steel modular buildings as part of the Portakabin Group, on Jockey Lane, about an hour later than planned.

The route take was via Jockey Lane, A1036, Hopgrove Roundabout, A64, Hazlebush Lane, Stockton on the Forest, Holtby Lane, Straight Lane, A166, Grimston Bar, A1079 to Kexby, then onwards to Hull Docks.

The vehicle was 134t, 4.5m wide and approx 6m high with an overall length of 38m and a rigid length of approximately 28m.

It was unable to use the A64 as it would be too high for the bridges.
