Calls for the former Peasholme Hostel to be retained for public use
6:45am 15th July 2010
There's calls for land in York, where the former Peasholme Hostel use to be based, to be retained for public use.
Earlier this year the building was demolished at a cost of £18,000 to local taxpayers.
Labour councillors have called the move a "missed opportunity"; saying it should have been revamped for the community until a long term project was determined.
This afternoon officials will discuss whether it should have been knocked down or not.
