Funeral of West Yorkshire soldier

Funeral of West Yorkshire soldier

5:46am 14th July 2010

The family of a Yorkshire soldier, who died in Afghanistan last month, will pay their final respects at his funeral in Otley later.

Lance Corporal David Ramsden, from The Yorkshire Regiment, was killed in a road accident in Helmand. His family have paid tribute to him saying "his presence lit up a room".

The 26 year old was 1 of 4 Britsh servicemen who died when their armoured vehicle overturned on the way to an attack on a police check-point.

This afternoon his friends and family will be among the mourners paying their final respects at All Saints Church.

All donations at the service will go to the Help For Heroes charity.
