Funds raised and a much loved daughter remembered in York

Becky Adams, from Tang Hall in York, has raised £1,215 for York Teaching Hospital Charity in memory of her daughter Oceon Adams who passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in February last year.

She visited York Hospital to thank the staff in the Emergency Department who worked hard to try and save her daughter and present them with a cheque.

The money will pay for the consumables used by a new Infant Resuscitation Platform to be used in the Emergency Department to help other families and children like Oceon and Becky unveiled a plaque in her memory.

Janine Vermeulen, Emergency Department Consultant said,

“In the emergency department we deal with patients of all ages and we have to have equipment that covers all those age ranges.

We are delighted to now have a specific infant resuscitation platform (Resuscitaire) and very grateful to Becky for raising the money to help us maintain this specialist piece of equipment.”

Becky has raised the money by hosting family fun days for her local community and is in the process of planning her next event.

York Teaching Hospital Charity raises funds to making a real difference in our local hospitals - making patients, relatives and visitors feel better and providing a level of care that is beyond that which NHS funding alone could deliver.
