3:18pm 21st April 2017
Today saw the launch of the new monthly Friday coffee morning at St Lukes Church on Burton Stone Lane in York. The organisers hope that this new initiative will allow local people who are socially isolated to get together in an informal cafe atmosphere and to participate in craft activities, board games and cross words.

At the same time various charities and organisations, such as Carer’s Resource, Dementia Forward, Alzheimer’s Society and Age UK, will have the opportunity to provide information and advice to those who attend.
The Community Cafe will be open once a month between 10.30 – 12.30 with refreshments offered free of charge to people who are otherwise prevented from going to a regular cafe, due to financial hardship.
St Luke’s provides accessible parking for people with physical disabilities.
The organisers welcome donations of cakes and other refreshments.
