Debris washed up against Tadcaster Bridge at the weekend is to be removed according to the County Council. The debris does not pose a flood risk or a danger to the structure of the bridge. However, North Yorkshire County Council and the Environment Agency are working together to allay any concerns among residents.
The Environment Agency will remove the debris as soon as river levels allow. The cost of the operation will be shared between the County Council and the Environment Agency.
The debris was brought down the River Wharfe by heavy rain over the weekend.
