Pubs protected in York

Pubs protected in York

5:36pm 10th June 2010

Two pubs in York have been protected by English Hertiage so their building can't be altered, demolished or closed.

The Swan on Bishopegate and The Golden Ball on Cromwell Road are now considered grade-two-listed locations.

With traditional public houses becoming increasingly rare, English Hertiage say it wants to perserve these sites with their original fittings and fixtures.
