Man attacked in York

A mans been assualted in York in the early hours of Monday morning.
The incident started at around 3.30am at the taxi rank on St Saviourgate and continued on the Stonebow. As a result of the incident a 20-year-old local man received serious injuries to his face which included a cut that required stitches and severe bruising.
Following the assault two men aged 18 and 24, both of York, were arrested in connection with the incident. They have now been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
