Road re-vamp in York
5:55am 11th May 2010
More safeguards around Blossom Street and Queen Street in York.
After over 5,000 residents called for improvement to the city's busiest junctions, the council now says "it's listening."
It's considering changing the existing road layout and providing better facilities for pedestrian and cyclist by adding pelican crossings and bike lanes.
Alternatives routes, avoiding traffic, could also be added for riders. The ideas will be discussed today at the council's Executive meeting.
