Stolen jewellery from the Shambles

A spate of break-ins on the Shambles in York has prompted concern.

Police say on two occasions this week, jewellery shops have been targetted.

Diamonds, gold necklaces, charm bracelets, rings and various valuable gems were taken.

Anyone who has any information about the break-ins, can help trace the offenders or locate the stolen jewellery is asked to contact PC Neville King, of the York Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team quoting reference number 12100052775.

Alternatively, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
