A five year old boy from North Yorkshire, is stranded abroad in a coma after an accident in the Czech Republic. Alek Malinka and his Dad Peter, from Thornton-le-Dale, hit a tree while playing on a sledge.
Alek ineeded life-saving surgery but is still unconscious .

Both father and son were injured in the accident and Peter suffered a fractured cheek bone, spending days in a separate hospital from his seriously injured son.
Alek’s mum, Ela, has since flown out with their three-year-old daughter, to join her husband and their son who they say has gradually started to get more movement in his head, arms and feet again.

They didn't have full travel insurance only the standard EU health card known as the E111 so getting home will be very hard without help from the community.
