A 76 year old motorist has been cut out of a car by firefighters after a three vehicle crash in York.

It happened at 10.45am when a truck went into a car which then hit a second car by the traffic lights by the Park & Ride at Askham Bar.

Police say the pensioner was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries after being cut out of his car by firefighters.

Both lanes at Tadcaster Road were shut for a while but the road is now re-open and running as normal.
