Car Windscreen Shattered By Falling Object On A64

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car windscreen was shattered on the A64 near York by an object falling from a bridge.
At around 5pm on Sunday 14 December 2014, a white Audi A1 was travelling westbound along the carriageway when an item about the size of a breeze block either fell or was dropped from the Naburn flyover.
Fortunately the object didn’t penetrate the glass and the driver and his passenger were uninjured.
Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident which could potentially have been fatal.
