Flash Floods Hit York

Flooded Road

1:07pm 7th November 2014
(Updated 3:36pm 7th November 2014)

Flash floods have hit York this lunchtime.

Callers have contacted Minster FM to report flooding in Acomb and Haxby.

Paul was in Acomb when the flooding hit.

The flooding in Acomb has now gone. But a burst water main is causing problems on Haxby Road.

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Water said: "We were alerted to a burst on a main in Haxby Road, York, near to Link Road, this lunchtime. Engineers have isolated the burst and are currently working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

"A section of the road will be closed but diversions will be in place. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience."

If you have any images of the flooding or can help us keep other people informed - e-mail news@minsterfm.com or ring 01904 486598.
