Jogger in Hospital After Alsatian Attack in Selby

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information after a jogger was bitten by a dog in Selby.
The victim, a 47-year-old local man, was jogging along the canal path between Selby and Brayton at sometime between 6.15am and 6.30am on Monday 27 Oct 2014,when he was attacked by an Alsatian dog.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to York District Hospital for urgent surgery.
He remains in hospital and is recovering from his ordeal.
The owner of the dog, who was present at the time of the incident, remained at the scene and offered the victim first aid.
Officers are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
In particular, they are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has suffered or witnessed similar incidents of this nature to come forward.
