12:26pm 3rd November 2014
Detectives in Harrogate are appealing for information after a burglary and high value theft of chocolate in the town.
It occurred between 4:45 pm on Saturday 1 November and 6.00am on Sunday 2 November 2014, from a business on Hornbeam Park.
The thieves stole several thousand pounds worth of chocolate made by Confectionary By Design and Serious Sweets.
Detective Constable Sam Harding, of Harrogate CID, said: “Due to the amount of chocolate which has been stolen, I believe that a large vehicle will have been used to transport it.
“If you saw any suspicious activity in the Hornbeam Park area around the time of the burglary I urge you to come forward and contact the police straight away.”
Detective Constable Harding added: “I am also keen to speak to anyone who is offered chocolate bearing either the brands Confectionary by Design or Serious Sweets in unusual circumstances and ask them to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information which could help this enquiry should contact Harrogate CID on 101, select option 2 and ask for Sam Harding. Alternatively, information can be emailed to Sam.harding @northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
