(Updated 6:17am 10th March 2010)

There's a predicted overspend of £350,000 at the City of York Council, all because of the bad weather.

4,200 tonnes of rock salt was used over Christmas due to the snow and ice.
That's 36 per cent more than normal.

The council now says, lessons must be learnt regarding gritting in York.

It's now reviewing it's Winter maintenance policy.
