York's "Wandering Wallaby" has been caught by police.

Earlier, the wallaby managed to close the Outer Ring Road between Haxby and Strensall after escaping from a field.

North Yorkshire Police tweeted the good news that the animal has been caught safe and well.

Minster FM listener Keith Fox was asked to help catch the animal by police during this evening's rush hour.

The animal had been on the loose since it was first spotted on Tuesday evening on Strensall Road opposite Earswick Chase on Tuesday night.
