(Updated 8:16am 26th February 2010)

A female taxi driver in York been threatened at knifepoint as two customers stolen her cab and money in Acomb.

It happened at 2.50am this morning (Thurs 25th Feb) on Lyndsey Avenue near the Pack of Cards pub.

The women was left on the roadside as the men drove off in her grey Volkswagen Passa.

The taxi's now been found abandoned a half a mile down the road and police have arrested five men.

We're told they're aged between 19 and 25 and are all being questionned this afternoon on suspicion of robbery.

A police spokesperson says they're not connecting this incident with the rape with a knife in Acomb on Saturday, but they can't rule it out.
