9:17am 12th August 2014

It occurred between 9.30pm on Tuesday 5 August and 8.30am on Wednesday 6 August 2014, when burglars broke into a house on White Street, causing extensive damage to a door.

The thieves stole a silver tube, with teddy bear stoppers, containing a christening certificate, a child’s Disney Princess money box, a Frozen fancy dress costume and a pink Vtech Intro tablet. Also taken was jewellery, including Plymouth Argyll, Armani, Fossil and Tissot wristwatches, silver dice cufflinks, Swarovski, pearl and silver necklaces and earrings and a brooch shaped like a horse’s head. The burglars also stole electronic equipment including a Toshiba flat screen television and laptop computer, a Samsung laptop computer, MP3 players and a TomTom satellite navigation system.

PC Nicola Gill, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

“If you were in the White Street area during the time of the burglary and noticed anyone acting suspiciously, I ask you to come forward and contact the police immediately."

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who has been offered any items matching the description of that stolen, and urge them to contact the police straight away.”
