Man Disturbed Breaking Into House in Haxby

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was disturbed breaking into a house in York.

At around 5.25pm on Wednesday 6 August 2014, a man was found in the kitchen of a house on Calf Close in Haxby by one of the occupants.

When he was discovered he left the property and was seen heading towards the play park on Ethel Ward Playing Fields.

The man is described as white, aged in his early 30s, around 5ft 9in tall, with a thin build and short, dark, slightly receding hair.

He was wearing a dark hooded top with a zip and dark-coloured trousers.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area around the time of the incident to contact them with information.
