Norton flat fires: man up in Court

10:31am 19th February 2010
(Updated 9:49am 23rd February 2010)

A man, charged with the murder of two apprentice jockeys in Norton, is up in court this morning.

Jamie Kyne and Jan Wilson died after a fire broke out at a block of flats back in September.

The deaths of the two young jockies, who had their whole future ahead of them, shocked North Yorkshire and the racing world.

At the time, a series of silent tributes took place across race tracks in the UK with jockeys wearing black armbands.

Today Peter William Brown from Knottingly will appear at Leeds Crown Court we're expecting Brown to enter his plea ahead of a trial beginning in April.
