Parents in Pocklington and Market Weighton Warned About Legal Highs
6:27am 29th July 2014
The booklet is designed to warn parents and caeres about potential dangers of Legal Highs.
It looks at how to deal with drugs as a parent.
Dr Tim Allison, from East Riding of Yorkshire Council said:
"Calling this group of drugs 'legal highs' can confuse people. In fact, some of the more common or dangerous ones have been made illegal."
"Some people think "legal" means safe but that isn't the case. These drugs have not been tested and there is no way of knowing what is in each different drug, if any of the ingredients are safe for people to use, what effects they may have on your body or if they are legal in the UK."
If you think you would benefit from the booklet, they have been distributed via youth and family support teams but anyone who would like a copy should contact Laurie Fergusson on 01482 391418 or firstname.lastname@example.org
