North Yorkshire's pubs need more help to stay open

A local ex-landlord says traditional pubs are being priced out of the market in York.

Willy's told Minster FM supermarket promotions are killing their trade, with 50 pubs shutting every week across the UK.

He now wants the Government to act and enforce tougher laws on drinks deals.

Meanwhile the GMB Union says the current PUBCO licensing agreements are unfair and exploit landlords.

It's a contract were a brewery will takeover the running costs of the pub and in turn charge higher prices for drinks.
