Police 7

(Updated 6:53am 8th July 2014)

A woman from Market Weighton told Minster FM about her lucky escape after a child's bike was thrown on to her car.

Nicola Preston was heading to the cinema with her husband, when the metal bike was thrown from a bridge above the A63 near Hessle on Sunday afternoon.

Nicola wants parents and teachers to make kids aware of the dangers that they could be putting others in:

Police tell Minster FM they're investigating to find the children responsible.

Humberside Police:

"We were called by one caller who had seen some youths throw something onto the carriageway and that it had hit their vehicle and that they’d driven over it.

There was also another call to say that another vehicle had driven over a child’s bike on the A63.

Officers attended the area to try and find those responsible, without success.  They also ensured the road was cleared of debris.  On the log it was described as a child’s trike by the officers who attended the scene.

Officers are still waiting to speak to one of the callers to confirm the exact circumstances of the incident and whether they can provide any useful suspect descriptions."
