The roadworks at the roundabout of the A59 junction of the Outer Ring Road are set to finish tomorrow.

On 13th June, York Council was predicting the works would be completed on Wednesday. That forecast meant the works will be a month overdue. If the works are completed tomorrow they would finished just a week before the Tour de France comes to the city.

People living nearby are being warned to prepare for one more night of overnight roadworks. The city council says it's contractors Belfour Beatty will keep disruption to a minimum but are warning rollers and pavers will have to be used during the night.

York Council is also emphasising to people that local firms are still open for business. It is also stressing that the long term benefits of the works at the newly opened Poppleton Bar Park & Ride will make a major impact on congestion in York.

More details on the new Park & Ride sites and accompanying roadworks can be found on York Council's website.
