York party band HUGE has been added to the line-up for the Grand Départy Concert on Friday 4 July at Huntington Stadium.
Billed as ‘UK’s maddest party band’, HUGE are known for their feel-good, high-energy set list, which includes everything from disco, reggae and rock to soul and ska. They have sold out York Barbican and The Grand Opera House more than 25 times.
HUGE join headline act Union J, as well as Russell Watson, Rough Copy, Kian Egan of Westlife-fame, York-based singer songwriter Alistair Griffin, Ollie Marland, The Loveable Rogues, Altered Images, Brother Beyond, The Blow Monkeys, The Overtones and York duo Disco Mister, in the diverse, family-friendly line-up.
Councillor Sonja Crisp, cabinet member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism, said: “We’re delighted to be adding HUGE, a hugely popular York band, to the line-up for the Grand Départy Concert. I’ve seen HUGE perform in the past myself; they’re always entertaining and get everyone involved.”
Big Ian of HUGE said: “We’ve only got a week to get on our bikes and into our lycra. It won’t be a pretty sight - none of us suit yellow!”
