It's official, the Government's approved that from April councils will no longer be compelled to license lap dancing clubs as a cafe.
Instead they can consider them as a form of sex establishment.
It means clubs will have to apply for a Sexual Encounter Venue License every 12 months, which can be opposed by local residents.
Andrew Elliott's the owner of Ziggy's nightclub in York, which has the Heavens Above lap dancing club upstairs.
He's hoping his license will be approved in just over six weeks time, despite recent opposition about his venue's being a noise nuisance.
