People in Malton, Pickering and Helmsley Now Paying For Garden Waste
6:53am 2nd June 2014
From today Ryedale District Council’s garden waste collection service becomes chargeable at £27 for the period June 2014 to March 2015, it works out at less than £2 per collection.
Every resident should now have received their information pack, detailing how to subscribe to the scheme.
Although chargeable collections start in June, residents will be able to subscribe to the scheme anytime up until 18 July.
Beckie Bennett is Streetscene Manager for Ryedale District Council:
“Residents are advised to subscribe as soon as possible so they benefit from the maximum number of collections,”
"There will be a number of other easy ways to pay, for residents who do not have access to a computer”
Garden waste collections cannot be guaranteed if subscriptions are received after 18 July 2014.
By far the quickest and easiest way to pay is online.
Once payment has been received, a confirmation letter will be posted out along with a licence within 14 days. This licence should be affixed to the garden waste bin to show the collection crew that residents have paid to receive the service. Bins without current licences will not be emptied.
Residents using compostable liners instead of wheeled bins will have new liners delivered.
