Body Found In River Ouse in York Confirmed as Mandeep Ahluwalia

Police have confirmed the man’s body found in the River Ouse in York at 8pm on Sunday 18 May 2014, has been identified as missing York man Mandeep Ahluwalia.

Mandeep was reported missing from his home in York on Friday 16 May 2014 He was previously a family GP in York and a dermatology expert.

Mandeep's body was found in the stretch of river which runs along the back of  St Peter’s School playing fields in Clifton.

The Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Underwater Search Team were called after a member of the public found Mandeep's body just after 4pm on Sunday.

Dr Mandeep Ahluwalia is now the fourth person to have drowned in the River Ouse so far this year, along with Megan Roberts, Ben Clarkson and Tyler Pearson.
