York House Search To Continue as Claudia Lawrence Suspect Bailed
6:01am 15th May 2014
Forensic officers are set to continue searches this morning at a house on Burnholme Grove in Tang Hall and at a second house in North Shields on Tyneside.
North Yorkshire Police has not confirmed or denied that the searches are linked to their ongoing investigations into the Claudia Lawrence case. Officers have said the searches are set to continue for some days and are thanking people living nearby for their patience while the investigations take place.
A 59 year old man arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of the murder of Claudia Lawrence is on bail after being released from police custody last night.
Police have again reiterated their calls for the media and the public not to name the man or publish any images of him.
Minster FM has not named the man or published the image of him, despite it circulating widely on other local and national media outlets.
North Yorkshire Police said yesterday that the force was concerned that media coverage from some outlets could "significantly hamper" the investigation and the chances of making any further arrests. The force also stated that it could also potentially put a possible future trial at risk.
