York Woman Dies After Crash Near Selby

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision near Selby.
The collision involving a blue BMW 3 Series, which was travelling towards Howden, and a white Kia Picanto, which was travelling towards York, occurred on the A63 at Cliffe at around 8.45pm on Sunday 11 May 2014
The driver of the Kia, a 60-year-old woman from York, suffered serious injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
We are not in a position to confirm the identity of the deceased at this time.
The driver of the BMW, a 25-year-old man from the Selby area, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving. He remains in police custody for questioning.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to the incident to contact them with information.
